Nike has amassed one of the most spectacular footwear collections in history since its inception in 1964. Every year, the Beaverton company will do some archival digging to spotlight and reintroduce a handful of designs to the modern-day sneakerhead, and 2022 is the year for the Air Kukini to make a comeback. The lifestyle runner, which first debuted in 2000, is set to release in a variety of hues in the coming months, one of which being an all-over “Leopard” makeup.
Panthera pardus-inspired designs are the center point here, as you could guess from the name, since they encircle the majority of the shoes’ top half in their natural muted beige and black tones. The diamond-shaped tongue and heel tabs, overlays that sit on the heels and toe tips, and the mesh lining all have solid black elements, while a translucent cage sprawls throughout the top and extends onto the midsole parts. Inside the exposed Air units down below, a modest yet vibrant pop of brilliant orange appears.
There’s no news on when these will be available to the general public, but Nike is expected to offer them in the coming months for $135 USD.
